lenky roy Lenky Roy (Dennis Narcisse) was born and raised in Greenwich Town, Kingston 13, home of many of Jamaica's reggae legends. After moving to Duhaney Park, Lenky Roy began visiting the Black Arkstudio owned by the legendary Lee 'scratch' Perry and located in the neighbouring community of Washington Gardens. Lenky Roy soon recrded his first single for Lee'scratch'Perry entitled Rastaman Unity.

When later Lenky Roy migrated to Boston, USA, he formed his own band 'Lenky Roy and the Eithiopian Roots' and appeared as opening act for such greats as Steel Pulse, Gregory Issacs, John Holt, Dennis Brown, Leroy Smart, Ken Boothe and the Blues Busters. In 1984, while on tour in Boston, Sugar Minott heard Lenky Roy's Music and encouraged him to return to Jamaica to join the Youthman promotion team. Lenky Roy accepted the offer and there began a long collaboration with Minott's sound system 'Youth Promotion' which included tours to Europe and the USA.

Lenky Roy released his first album Rastaman Unity in 1985. His singles 'set me free' (a remake of Bob Andy's 'Unchained') and 'is she for real' received critical acclaim in Jamaica and overseas.
